Lockhart Arrest: Travis County Jailer Charged After Recorded Threat

By

A Travis County Sheriff’s Office jailer, Lynndrick L. Holmes, is facing criminal charges after two arrests earlier this year stemming from threats made to a family member, records show. Holmes, 36, who began his career with TCSO on August 21, 2023, was first arrested by Lockhart police after a victim reported a terroristic threat that occurred at a residence in Lockhart. The affidavit and arrest paperwork describe a recorded exchange that prompted the victim to go to the Lockhart Police Department and provide evidence to investigators. Holmes remains employed by TCSO; the agency has completed internal affairs reviews and says disciplinary action was taken while he remains on duty pending the outcome of the criminal case.

What lead to the arrest

Records filed in Caldwell County recount that the victim, identified in the report as Holmes’ wife, told officers her husband threatened to kill her during a verbal argument on January 20, 2026. Holmes told his wife she had a month to move out of the house. The victim provided a video in which the defendant can be heard saying, “Communicate that shit to God, I’m gonna send you up to him … I will kill the fuck outta you [redacted].”  The affidavit states the victim told officers the threat “put her in fear for her life and that she believed that [Holmes] was capable of carrying out the action described by the threat.”  Those statements led to a warrant being issued and the subsequent arrest for terroristic threat of family/household, a Class A misdemeanor under Texas law.

Two arrests in one month

Records show the initial incident was reported to Lockhart police on January 22, 2026, and Holmes was arrested at a residence in Lockhart that same day and booked into the Caldwell County jail. A second arrest followed later in January on a warrant for violation of bond/protective order, with a bond set at $7,500.

Travis County Sheriff’s Office Response

Holmes remains actively employed in full capacity as a jailer with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office. The Hawk’s Eye reached out to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office and they advise, “TCSO’s Internal Affairs investigations are complete and disciplinary action was taken. Officer Holmes is back on duty pending the outcome of his criminal charges per policy.”

Holmes is scheduled to appear for a pretrial hearing on July 30, 2026, on the two charges related to the incidents earlier this year. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in the court of law.
