Media Ethics, Editorial Standards, and Responsible Use of Technology

Our Purpose

This publication exists to provide accurate, fair, and responsible reporting in the public interest. Coverage often focuses on government, law enforcement, courts, and civic institutions where transparency and accountability directly affect the community.

Accuracy and Verification

All factual information is reviewed before publication using verifiable sources such as public records, official statements, court filings, direct documentation, and other reliable evidence. We distinguish between confirmed facts, allegations, and opinion, and we correct verified errors in a timely and transparent manner.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently and without improper political, financial, or personal influence. Reporting is conducted in good faith and with respect for due process and the presumption of innocence.

Opportunity for Response

When appropriate and reasonably practical, individuals or agencies referenced in coverage may be contacted for comment.
In some circumstances—such as reporting based on public records, previously issued official statements, common practices to particular inquiries, or time-sensitive matters—separate outreach may not occur.

Human Editorial Responsibility

All published content is reviewed and approved by a human editor. Final editorial judgment, including accuracy, fairness, tone, and context, always remains a human responsibility.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence may be used as a supporting writing and production tool to assist with drafting language, organizing information, or improving clarity.

AI is not treated as a reporter or factual source.

Facts are confirmed through real-world, verifiable sources, and all content—whether AI-assisted or not—is reviewed, edited, and verified by a human editor before publication.
Artificial intelligence may therefore be used to assist the writing process, while accuracy, verification, and editorial responsibility remain entirely human.

Community Responsibility

Our reporting is intended to inform the public, provide meaningful context, and encourage responsible civic awareness. We avoid sensationalism and prioritize evidence-based journalism in service to the communities we cover.
