Prior Cameron County ADA Indicted for Records Tampering

Kellye Kaye Crump SoRelle, known as Kellye SoRelle, claims employment with the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office from the year 2011 to the year 2017.

After leaving employment, it appears she self identifies or identified to be a “patriot, Lawyers for Trump/Detroit; Attorney for Latinos for Trump, Blacks for Trump, General Counsel for OathKeepers,” per her Twitter account.

Indicted Due to Suspected Insurrection Actions on the U.S. Capital

Prior Cameron County ADA SoRelle was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury which swore in on or about January 8, 2021.

The Federal Grand Jury issued a True Bill on the prior Cameron County ADA for the following counts:

COUNT ONE
(18 U.S.C. 151(k))
(Conspiracy to Obstruct an Official Proceeding)

From in and around December 2020, through in and around Jaruary 2021, in the District of Columbia and elsewhere, KELLYE SORELLE did knowingly combine, conspire, confederate, and agree with other persons known and unknown to the Grand Jury, to corruptly obstruct, influence, and impede an official proceeding, that is, Congress’s certification of the Electoral College vote as set out in the Twelfth Amendment of the Constitution of the United States and 3 U.S.C. 15-18, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1512(c)(2).

COUNT TWO (18 U.S.C. 1512(c)(2), 2)
(Obstruction of an Official Proceeding and Aiding and Abetting)


On or about January 6, 2021 , within the District of Columbia and elsewhere, KELLYE SORELLE attempted to, and did, corruptly obstruct, influence, and impede an official proceeding, that is, a proceeding before Congress, specifically, Congress’s certification of the Electoral College vote as set out in the Twelfth Amendment of the Constitution of the United States and 3 U.S.C.
15- 18, and did aid and abet others known and unknown to the Grand Jury to do the same. (In violation ofTitle 18. United States Code, Sections 1512(c)(2),2)

COUNT THREE
(18 U.S.C. 1752(a)(1)) (Restricted Building or Grounds)

On or about January 6, 2021, in the District of Columbia, KELLYE SORELLE did knowingly enter and remain in a restricted building and grounds, that is, any posted, cordoned-off, and otherwise restricted area within the United States Capitol and its grounds, where the Vice President was temporarily visiting, without lawful authority to do so.
(ln violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1752(a)(1))

COUNT FOUR
(18 U.S.C. 1512(b)(2)(A)-(B)) (Obstruction of Justice-Tampering with Documents)

On or about January 7, 2021, in the District of Columbia and elsewhere, KELLYE SORELLE did corruptly persuade and attempt to corruptly persuade other persons with intent to cause and induce such persons to (A) withhold records, documents, and other objects from an official proceeding, that is, the Grand Jury investigation into the attack on the United States Capitol on January 6,2021, and (B) alter, destroy, mutilate, and conceal objects with intent to impair the objects’ integrity and availability for use in such a Grand Jury investigation.
(In violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1 5 12(b)(2XA)-(B))

Prior Cameron County ADA Arrested After Federal Indictment

An arrest warrant was issued for the prior Cameron County ADA on or about August 31, 2022.

She was arrested on or before September 1, 2022. Soon after arrest she filed for representation by a Federal Public Defender. She filed a document stating ability to pay for defense was not practical due to financial constraints. The Federal Court granted the prior Cameron County ADA’s request to public defense representation.

The status of the prior Cameron County ADA’s State Bar of Texas license (24053486) is “administratively suspended;” per the state website. She was first licensed to practice law in the State of Texas on or about May 4, 2006. She claims degree affiliation with Oklahoma City University. She claims to have obtained her Doctorate of Jurisprudence/Juris Doctor (J.D.) on or about December in the year 2015. There is no prior discipline listed by the State Bar of Texas.

The prior Cameron County ADA is set for a pretrial hearing on or about September 6, 2022.
