After the United States Supreme Court declined to hear John Chambers appeal to their venue, the Cameron County 103rd District Court has sentenced Chambers.

Judge Janet Leal sentenced a concurrent punishment with a two year probate. Rather than Chambers serving the maximum sentence of one year for a Class A misdemeanor, Judge Leal has decided to hold the punishment of jail time for two years. During such time Chambers will be placed on probation.

Some of the requirements of probation consist of alcohol and drug evaluation, testing for the same, 180 hours of community service, $1400 in fines, and other conditioned deemed necessary by the probation department.
The sentencing when reviewing the actual decision seems justified.
