The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a significant enforcement year for its Texas 10 Most Wanted Program, announcing that state and partner agencies captured 65 fugitives during 2025.
According to DPS, those arrests included individuals listed as Texas’ Most Wanted fugitives, sex offenders, and criminal illegal immigrants. Sixty-two of the arrests occurred in Texas, with additional captures reported in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Mexico.
Program Results and Arrest Breakdown
DPS stated that the 65 individuals taken into custody included 28 convicted sex offenders and 13 criminal illegal immigrants. The agency reported that the 13 criminal illegal immigrants represented six nationalities, including Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Iraq, Cuba, and Cameroon.
In connection with the arrests, $41,000 in reward money was paid to 11 anonymous tipsters whose information led to captures through the program.
DPS Statement on Public Safety
Criminal Investigations Division Chief Floyd Goodwin said the results reflect coordinated law-enforcement efforts across multiple jurisdictions.
“Texas is a law-and-order state, and the Texas Department of Public Safety is committed to working with our law enforcement partners and the public to keep it that way,” Goodwin said in a DPS statement. He added that DPS intends to continue working with local, state, federal, and international agencies to sustain enforcement efforts in 2026.

Role of Crime Stoppers and Tipsters
The Texas 10 Most Wanted Program is funded through the Governor’s Public Safety Office, with rewards administered through Crime Stoppers. DPS emphasized that all tips submitted through the program remain anonymous, regardless of submission method, and tipsters are issued a number rather than identified by name.
DPS investigators coordinate with local law-enforcement agencies to determine which fugitives are placed on the Most Wanted lists, focusing on individuals the agency says pose the greatest threat to public safety.
Multi-Agency Enforcement Effort
DPS reported that arrests in 2025 involved extensive coordination among state, local, federal, and international partners. Participating agencies included multiple DPS divisions, local police departments and sheriff’s offices across Texas, federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service task forces, and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as well as law-enforcement authorities in Mexico.
DPS maintains current Texas 10 Most Wanted lists, including photographs, and publishes annual capture information through its captured fugitive archive.
