Detectives with the Austin Police Department (APD) have arrested two physical therapists in connection with separate sexual assault investigations involving their patients. According to APD, the cases involve Paul Lietz and Manuel Rangel, who worked at different physical therapy locations in Austin. Authorities say the incidents are not connected, but both involve allegations that patients were sexually assaulted during treatment.
Arrests and Ongoing Investigations

Police say Paul Lietz, who worked as a physical therapist in the Mueller area, has been accused of sexually assaulting a patient.

In a separate case, Manuel Rangel, who worked as a physical therapist in the Medical Parkway area, has also been accused of sexually assaulting a patient.
Both men are facing sexual assault charges, according to investigators. Due to the sensitive nature of the cases, authorities say additional details about the alleged incidents cannot be released at this time. APD officials confirmed that both investigations remain open and active.
Police Asking Potential Victims to Come Forward
Detectives with APD’s Sexual Crimes Unit are asking anyone who may have had contact with either therapist and believes they may have been victimized to come forward.
