The City of Kyle has appointed Finance Director Perwez Moheet as interim city manager following the departure of current City Manager Bryan Langley. The appointment was made during the Kyle City Council’s Tuesday, May 5, 2026, meeting and takes effect May 9, 2026. Moheet will serve in the role for at least 12 months, or until the council names a permanent city manager. He will continue serving as the city’s finance director while taking on the interim leadership post.

Leadership transition in Kyle
The move comes after the City of Kyle announced in April that Langley had accepted a position with the City of Goodyear, Arizona. City officials said Langley’s final day of service with Kyle is May 15, although his last day in the office was set for May 8. At the time, the city said its executive leadership team would remain in place during the transition to help maintain continuity of operations and city services.
Moheet has served as Kyle’s finance director since 2010 and has overseen the city’s financial operations during a period of significant growth. The city said he brings decades of experience in municipal leadership, public policy and financial management to the interim role. In announcing the appointment, Mayor Yvonne Flores-Cale described Moheet as a steady and trusted presence within city government. She said his long tenure, institutional knowledge and leadership style made him the right person to guide the city during the transition.
Moheet to serve in dual role
Under the council’s action, Moheet will hold both the interim city manager and finance director positions. City officials said he is expected to remain in the interim role for a minimum of one year unless the council makes a permanent appointment sooner. The dual role places one of the city’s longest-serving senior staff members at the center of day-to-day operations as Kyle works through a change in top leadership. The city has not yet announced a timeline for selecting a permanent city manager.
Langley had served as Kyle city manager since 2023. During that time, the city credited him with advancing several major infrastructure and development efforts, including a $294 million road bond program and a $200 million wastewater treatment plant expansion. City officials also said his administration helped increase Kyle’s water supply by 37 percent and launched initiatives such as a 311 customer service system, a drone-as-first-responder program and a regional animal adoption center partnership. The city also pointed to progress on economic development projects, including Kyle Park, a planned 101-acre mixed-use development.
