3 Candidates for Hays County Sheriff Submit Their Campaign Finance Reports – 7/2023

3 Candidates for Hays County Sheriff Submit Their Campaign Finance Reports – 7/2023

The Hays County Elections Office lists four candidates for Hays County Sheriff. Current Sheriff, Gary Cutler, previously indicated he would not seek re-election.

To date, the four candidates for the office are the following:

  • Alex Villalobos
  • Andre Marmolejo
  • Anthony Hipolito
  • Daniel Law

Out of the four names, only three have submitted their July 2023 Campaign Finance Reports.

Anthony Hipolito’s Campaign Finance Report

Filed on July 17, 2023, Hipolito’s report shows total political contributions of $122,176.72. There were expenditures of $31,944.28. Leaving Hipolito’s contribution balance at $64,284.50.

Alexander (Alex) Villalobos’s Campaign Finance Report

Also filed on July 17, 2023, Villalobos reported $8,050.00 for total political contributions. The expenditures were $6,795.02. Leaving Villalobos with $1,745.98.

David Law’s Campaign Finance Report

On July 17, 2023, Law reported $1,047.72 in total political contributions. The report detailed $347.72 in expenditures. This left the balance at $700.00.

4th Campaign Finance Report Not Filed

We did not locate a campaign finance report from Andre Marmolejo.

Election Will Be in 2024

Although the election is not until next year, as you can see, candidates have decided to get an early start on their campaigns. One should still be able to file to run for the office until December 11, 2023, but we recommend checking with the appropriate authority if you are considering the office of Hays County Sheriff.
