Candidates for the 2024 election for Cameron County Sheriff are starting early on their campaigns. So far there have been four candidates implying their intent to seek that office by filing campaign finance reports.

Below are the campaign finance reports for the four listed. These breakdowns are done by amount of money left in their treasury at the date of the report, from most to least. The campaign is still early and the candidates have plenty of time to do what they feel they need to get their messages out.

Eric Garza’s Campaign Finance Report

Garza has the most money listed as maintained in his campaign treasury. He claims receipt of $40,950 in political contributions and claims $17,030.09 in expenditures this reporting period. Leaving a balance of about $67,577.00.

Jesus Rosas Jr’s Campaign Finance Report

Rosas Jr has the second most listed as maintained in his campaign treasury. The amount is significantly lower than Garza’s; however, Rosas Jr does cite $87,089.25 in non-monetary (in-kind) political contributions. He claims a balance of $6,940.86. During the reporting period, Rosas Jr, claims receipt of $5,200 in political contributions.

Ronald Saenz’s Campaign Finance Report

Saenz lists his campaign treasury at $2,280.01. He received $5,250 in political contributions. He spent $4,859.83, leaving the balance of $2,280.01.

Manuel Trevino’s Campaign Finance Report

Trevino raised $11,958, as indicated in this reporting period. He made use of $10,462.26 through expenditures. This left him with $1,487.74 at the date of the report.
