A series of cash register thefts on Nov. 12, 2025, led to a multi-agency investigation that resulted in charges against three Houston-area suspects connected to commercial burglaries ranging from the Kyle area to Houston. According to authorities, the suspects targeted multiple Poco Loco restaurant locations on the same day. Officials said cash was taken from registers as the suspects traveled from Kyle toward Houston. The incidents prompted an investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.
Kyle Police officers and Hays County Sheriff’s Office detectives began working together to investigate the thefts. During the investigation, authorities said they were able to identify the suspects involved in the incidents. Investigators also coordinated with regional partner agencies as the case expanded. Officials said that cooperation helped link the suspects to other burglary investigations.
Charges Filed Against Three Houston Men

As a result of the investigation, authorities charged Cedric Ryan Scales Jr., 19; Isaiah Jacob Jaramillo, 23; and Ca’Den Dejuan Johnson, 21, all of Houston, with burglary of a building and engaging in organized criminal activity. Officials said the charges stem from the theft incidents reported on Nov. 12. Investigators said the case involved burglaries connected to businesses between the Kyle area and Houston. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the specific incidents connected to each suspect.

Hays County Sheriff Anthony Hipolito credited the collaboration between agencies during the investigation. “I’m grateful for my relationship with Chief Barnett and the Kyle Police Department,” Hipolito said. “I’m thoroughly impressed with the collaboration and dedication shown by investigators from both agencies.” Kyle Police Chief Dr. Jeff Barnett also highlighted the role of interagency cooperation in the case.

Arrests Occurred Over Several Months
Johnson was arrested Dec. 8, 2025, by the Angleton Police Department in connection with a separate robbery investigation. Jaramillo was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force on Jan. 13, 2026. Scales was arrested March 5, 2026, also by the task force.
Authorities said all three arrests were connected to a separate stolen firearms investigation in Angleton, Texas. Officials did not release additional details regarding that investigation. As with all criminal cases, the suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
