San Marcos Police Arrest Travis County Jailer on Family Violence Charge

By

A Travis County jailer was arrested by the San Marcos Police Department in December 2025 following a domestic disturbance at a San Marcos residence that police determined constituted Assault by Contact – Family Violence, according to arrest records, jail documents, and a sworn probable cause affidavit.

The suspect, Holly Lynn Seaver, was taken into custody on the night of December 7, 2025, and booked into the Hays County Jail. She was released the following day without bail on a Class C, fine-only charge. The case is pending in San Marcos Municipal Court.

Initial Call and Police Response

According to the affidavit, officers were dispatched to a residence on Edward R. Gaytan Street at approximately 9:29 p.m. after a report of a physical disturbance. Call notes indicated Seaver’s boyfriend contacted dispatch and reported that he and Seaver had been arguing and that she had shoved him during the dispute.

The affidavit states that officers identified the boyfriend at the scene and confirmed Seaver as the suspect. Police also made contact with one of the children in the home during the initial investigation.

Background Tensions Inside the Home

From interviews conducted at the residence, officers documented that Seaver had been experiencing heightened emotional distress and anger in the period leading up to the incident. The affidavit notes a history of Seaver yelling at both her boyfriend and the children.

On the night of the incident, police say Seaver became upset with one child for failing to clean up after a pet rabbit and angry with her boyfriend because she believed he allowed his children too much leeway and was a “pushover” when it came to discipline. According to police, Seaver yelled at the child and her boyfriend and then left the residence for a period of time.

Confrontation With Child After Returning Home

The affidavit states that after returning to the residence, Seaver went into the bathroom while the child was showering and told him she needed to use the restroom. Once the child finished showering, Seaver asked if he understood why she was upset. When the child told her he did not want to have the conversation she was attempting to initiate, the confrontation continued in the living room.

Police wrote that Seaver pulled out a barstool, sat directly in front of the child, faced him, and stared at him while beginning to yell. As the child attempted to block her out, Seaver stood up, got in his face, raised her fist, and made a statement to the effect of, “You’re not too old for me to put my hands on you.”

Argument With Boyfriend Escalates

According to the affidavit, Seaver’s boyfriend intervened when the confrontation escalated. Police say Seaver struck a cup of water the boyfriend was holding, causing it to fall to the ground and spill. The boyfriend and the child then picked up the broken cup.

Seaver allegedly told her boyfriend to leave the residence. He refused, telling officers his three children were asleep and had school the next day. The affidavit states Seaver then went into a bedroom and began yelling in an effort to wake the children, telling them they needed to clean the house due to an earlier incident involving one child becoming sick.

When the boyfriend shined a light toward Seaver and told her not to wake the children, she returned to the living room and again ordered him to leave the residence.

Physical Contact and Firearm Drawn

Police allege that when the boyfriend again refused to leave, Seaver pushed him as she repeated her demand. The boyfriend pushed Seaver back, causing her back to strike the counter of a kitchen island.

The affidavit states Seaver then ducked down as if she were going to charge at him. The boyfriend told officers he believed Seaver might attempt a “take down” on him or otherwise injure him because she is a correctional officer and knows how to handle physical confrontations.

Fearing she could hurt him, the boyfriend drew his handgun from an appendix carry position and told Seaver “that was enough.” Police noted in the affidavit that both the boyfriend and the child stated the firearm was never pointed at Seaver.

Booking, Release, and Court Case

Jail records show Seaver was booked into the Hays County Jail under a San Marcos Police Department case number and released without bail pursuant to Article 15.18 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. Court documents indicate she signed a promise to appear in San Marcos Municipal Court within ten days. No plea has been entered. We have requested the current status of the case.

Employment and Licensing Records

Records from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement show Seaver holds an active jailer license and remains listed as employed with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, with service dating back to August 2018.

The Hawk’s Eye has contacted the Travis County Sheriff’s Office seeking clarification on Seaver’s current duty status and whether any administrative action has been taken following the arrest. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed there is an internal investigation and Seaver’s is on leave.

  1. This is Sean Seaver the Son of Holly seaver and the “Child” mentioned in the affidavit.
I want to set something straight before people assume the worst, this affidavit is false, and biased.
Being present in this conflict, I can say that a lot of key information was left out.
And if anyone was going to be arrested it should not have been my mother, I am working on a paper right now, and I will have it submitted to whomever it may concern in the near future
